Manufacturing Technology Lead (m/f/d)

Job Summary:
Pivotal role in the strategy and business planning process, ensuring cross functional collaboration and leadership execution. The primary responsibilities of this position consist of ensuring the ongoing optimization of the process and provide manufacturing support to guarantee the continued manufacture and supply of quality and biologic products in meeting our Manufacturing Division Priorities of Compliance, Supply, Strategy and Profit Plan. As a Manufacturing Technology Lead, you will report to the Manufacturing Lead and key performer in establishing the Manufacturing Department initially during and post start-up.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and actively participate in the team of Process Scientist and Engineers with technical expertise in support of the commercial scale manufacturing of therapeutic proteins in a mammalian cell culture facility
- Supports operational readiness and provides during operations input to ensure the facility requirements during start up
- Interfaces post start up with the project to ensure the manufacturing facility will consistently deliver on specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Works closely with the MSAT (Material Science & Technology) team to ensure the effective and efficient tech transfer of products and processes
- Conducts all activities regarding the Company policies & SOPs, WuXi values, & global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP / cGLP / cGCP), environmental guidelines, as appropriate, and advise management of non-conformance issues and opportunities for (CI)
Technical Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in a large-scale biologics manufacturing facility
- Ideally, experienced in establishing a Manufacturing department and building a team in a ‘greenfield’ context of similar size and scale
Knowledge
- In-depth working knowledge of manufacturing operations and thorough knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Qualifications
- Third level qualification in a Science or Engineering related subject required; Masters level qualification is advantageous
