Manufacturing Technology Lead (m/f/d)

Job Summary:

Pivotal role in the strategy and business planning process, ensuring cross functional colla­boration and leader­ship execution. The primary responsi­bilities of this position consist of ensuring the ongoing optimi­zation of the process and provide manu­facturing support to guarantee the continued manu­facture and supply of quality and biologic products in meeting our Manu­facturing Division Priorities of Compliance, Supply, Strategy and Profit Plan. As a Manu­facturing Technology Lead, you will report to the Manu­facturing Lead and key performer in establi­shing the Manu­facturing Depart­ment initially during and post start-up.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and actively participate in the team of Process Scientist and Engineers with technical expertise in support of the commercial scale manu­facturing of therapeutic proteins in a mammalian cell culture facility
  • Supports operational readiness and provides during ope­rations input to ensure the facility require­ments during start up
  • Interfaces post start up with the project to ensure the manu­facturing facility will consistently deliver on specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Works closely with the MSAT (Material Science & Technology) team to ensure the effective and efficient tech transfer of products and processes 
  • Conducts all activities regarding the Company policies & SOPs, WuXi values, & global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP / cGLP / cGCP), environ­mental guidelines, as appropriate, and advise manage­ment of non-conformance issues and opportu­nities for (CI)

Technical Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in a large-scale biologics manufacturing facility
  • Ideally, experienced in establishing a Manufacturing department and building a team in a ‘greenfield’ context of similar size and scale

Knowledge

  • In-depth working knowledge of manufacturing operations and thorough knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

Qualifications

  • Third level qualification in a Science or Engineering related subject required; Masters level qualification is advantageous
