The processes developed within Clariant’s biotechnology platform are ideal for producing sustainable, bio-based chemicals and fuels, and offer enormous potential for general use in different manufacturing processes. The Business Line »Biofuels & Derivatives«, a new segment within the Business Area Catalysis, was established to market and continuously develop the sunliquid® technology.

We are now looking for a Business Development Manager (m/f/d) to join our Biofuels & Derivatives Business Line and drive its continued commercial success.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for EU-wide Business Development including lead generation and mapping of governmental, legal and regulatory developments.
  • Drive Business Development projects from concept to commercialization.
  • Become the authority with respect to market development and trends, competition and regulatory.
  • Define strategy including project milestones and resource requirements.
  • Develop a network of customers and partners in the renewable energy sector.
  • Lead multi-functional project teams to execute strategies, reduce risk and to deliver the milestones.
  • Define and validate the value proposition and the pricing of the new product / offering.
  • Take responsibility for the progress, quality and overall budget of the project.

Requirements:

  • You have a passion for sustainability, renewable energy and future technologies. 
  • You hold a degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Business Management and can provide experience in the Chemical, Biofuel, Oil or related industries.
  • You have experience in technical and/or commercial roles – preferably in Business Development and corresponding activities (e. g. development of value propositions, value-based selling, and pricing, preparation of technical and commercial proposals, sales deal negotiation related to new products/offerings and new applications).
  • You enjoy communicating based on your excellent communication skills.
  • Ideally you have a network established to potential customers and external partners. 
  • What else is important? You possess perseverance, international experience and intercultural sensitivity.
  • And, you are fluent in English (both, written and spoken).
